Some of My Fave Verses

Although life circumstances may change the immediate relevancy of certain verses, I have many, many favorites that mean so much to me and that I meditate on again and again….who am I kidding? There’s no room for them all here! So here’s a few….

Any and all of the “do not fear” verses but these in particular:

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” This verse really started showing up in my life (that I noticed) in September 2007. I even got this as my 2012 Valentine from Jesus that I wrote about here.

Let’s just add verse 7 & 8:

Deuteronomy 31:7-8 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

2 Chronicles 20:17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'”  This has SPECIAL, SPECIAL, SPECIAL significance to me. God gave this to me during a very hard time in my life. Wrote about it here.

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Proverbs 3:24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Isaiah 40:11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD plus  Isaiah 55:9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

Psalm 141:3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Psalm 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make your paths straight. Need to confess that this is ALWAYS a work in progress.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. Well, I certainly have lots of weaknesses…

Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength. This is one that I think about a lot……still a work in progress also…

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Although I prefer the NLT: 10For we are God’s MASTERPIECE. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

And my THEME VERSE for 2012:  Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

What a thrill that He has crossed our paths! 😀 Okay, I promise I’m going to stop traipsing all over your blog now. ;-D But seriously, these scriptures spoke to me. Quite a few of them, I’m familiar with, but the one about Him gently leading those with young—wow. That one just really hit me.

Thank you for allowing God to work through you on the internets! 🙂
